Janeil “Janjan” Day is a self taught artist since the COVID-19 shut down. In order to cope with the uncertainty of COVID, she started off by sketches to pass the time during lockdown, and thus started her art journey. Post COVID shutdown, painting became a therapeutic method to help navigate her PTSD. With a Filipino American ethnic background and queer identity, along with her progress of SA recovery, Janeil’s art shares her own unique experience of recovery transmuting her sexual trauma into images of the divine feminine as nature healing, while also rediscovering her feminine identity and psychology in vivid storytelling; using images of natural elements combined with feminine figures, and abstract line patterns. Janjan hopes her art resonates to those who are currently recovering from sexual trauma, that we, just like mother nature, can recover.

Janjan is also a muralist, who is currently working on the “Out of the Box” traffic signal public art project in Carson City, NV. Janjan also paints at live at events and festivals. She has painted in the past at StillDream Festival in Wilseyville, CA (2024), and in Belden, CA (2025) and Cascade Equinox Festival (2025) and live art events hosted at Makers Paradise in Reno, NV.

She has been featured in several galleries at Makers Paradise, and featured in a few galleries hosted by Sierra Arts Foundation.
